This is my third book. We Only Lost 1-1 tells the compelling story of Stevenage Borough's brave band of brothers, all part-timers, who took on a Newcastle side that was in the Premier League and had beaten Barcelone in the Champions League months earlier, and lost only after a replay and to a goal by Alan Shearer that would have been ruled out by VAR had we had it in 1998.
There are also chapters on Stevenage's later FA Cup exploits, the 2011 win against Newcastle, a 2011 replay defeat to Spurs and of course the recent 2-1 win at Aston Villa.
